Hi J.J.! Thanks so much. I'm glad that you enjoyed the blog. :) It's really cool when God drops something into your lap that other people can relate to and take something from it.

You are right! It is essential to memorize Scripture! I just thought I'd mention, though, that I carry around a little ESV Bible wherever I go, and it even has a concordance so that I can find the verses I need quickly. This isn't to diminish the importance of Scripture memory, but man, it's helpful for evangelism to always have an actual Bible on hand, so you can SHOW them the Scriptures, so they can base their response on, "Oh, this is actually something God has said and put in the Bible, not just something someone is claiming the Bible says."

Thanks for the reminder, though - I'm sure we can all use encouragement as far as memorizing Scripture goes. If you haven't read Brother Yun's The Heavenly Man, you should, because his testimony of Scripture memorization puts us all to shame!

Hello Kendra,

I recently joined T4E, and you are the only other member I have yet to meet. So this was a nice way to meet you, as I really liked this post. Especially about not "making time" for God, but just making time for everything else. I've never thought about it that way before.

Great thoughts!
J.J.

I have three friends in my neighborhood that I hang out with in the summer. About a week ago my sister and I had them over to make smores and just relax. We got to talking about what they believed. Two of them who were brothers thought they were Christians, but had never accepted Christ and had no idea why they needed him. The other boy, who was their cousin, believed that however you interpreted the Bible was ok and you would go to heaven. I was curios about this so I asked some more questions. He seemed just a little hesitant in answering. Finally it got around to what my sister and I believed. We both opened up and explained to them the need for salvation. They had alot of questions about what sin was and about what the Bible says and what it askes of them and promises them. Now me being more open than my sister, which she admits to openly, I kind of took over the conversation and explained to them the joy that comes with your faith but loso the difficulty. None of them accepted Christ but we have invited them to church with us and they seem open to it.

Great review. I read the more complete version, Share Jesus Without Fear a few years ago. After I read it, I so wanted to use what I learned - but I was very nervous. So I went to the gas station and sat in their restaurant area. As I read the Bible, a person came to me and asked what I was reading. Then he sat down right across from me. I had him read the verses and shared the gospel with him. It was wonderful.

On a side note, one change I would make is not using the last verse (Revelation 3:20) the way he recommends using it. The verse is taken out of context. Use another verse. I suggest 2 Corinthians 6:2.
