The Power of Scripture

Hey everyone,

Scripture, the inspired word of God, that was written by man, has been a strength through all ages. God used many different people from all walks of life to be his tool for writing His Word.
One amazing thing about the Bible is it’s uniqueness. The Bible is very different from all other books. -It was written over a span of 1,600 years. -It was written by over 40 authors from all walks of life including kings, peasants, philosophers, fishermen, poets, even a doctor. -It was written in many different places like, a wilderness, a dungeon, on the isle of Patmos, in the rigors of a military campaign. -It was written during different moods, some wrote from the heights of joy and others from the depths of despair. -The scripture has foretold many things that were in the future, and they came to pass. -The Bible is the actual word of God! 2Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

The Bible has many uses in our lives. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. ” God’s word is extremely powerful! Quoting scripture to believers and unbelievers releases an authority from God. The Bible is also a great source of inspiration and comfort. Psalms 119:105  “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” God’s word leads us to His ways and plans for our life. Follow it! In Romans 10:17 it says, “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.” The word of Christ while he was on earth has been copied down in the Gospels, Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John.

With the tremendous advantages of reading scripture, how can we not read it every day? Every hour? I encourage and exhort you to read God’s word. Meditate on scripture. It will give you Life!
