Street Evangelism

A little while ago, I started a series on  Evangelism. We’ve already talked about Friendship evangelism. So now I’d like to move onto Street or Cold Evangelism. I haven’t used this technique much and it seems sometimes to put people off. However, I know people who have used this method with some success. Basically just as you’re walking around, living life and, when you come in contact with other people you tell them the Gospel. Not neccessarily all the time, but you’re on the lookout for people who need Jesus. This is a good idea if the idea of talking to people you know scares you. It’s kind of hard to follow up with this, but there are ways to do it. One of the people on this site actually set up another site to which he directs people he’s talked to. Whatever method you decide to use, it’s always a good idea to tell people about the good news.

I agree with your assertion. I have a few blog articles on evangelism that may encourage you. Please leave a comment if possible.

There is a great misconception that street evangelism turns people off or doesnt get results. A few things to remember when doing street evamngelism or any style of witnessing is that God is the author of salvation, He is the one who saves people, not our tracts or clever words or presentations, but God is the One who draws people to Christ.

Also people are already turned off to the things of God. Our hearts are wicked to begin with, people want nothing to do with the things of God. “There is none who seeks after God” Also, the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing so what ever we say will be offensive.

I have been doing street evangelism for some time and I dont see alot of converts, I desire to though but the whole mission of evangelism is not to get results even though that is one of our hopes, that people would come to a knowlwdge of Christ and repent but the whole purpose shouild be first and formost to glorify God and that is done simply through the preaching of the gospel…

    thanks,,Be well..
